Some random items of interest:

  • This picture provides a contrast that is a good example of the moral decay I wrote about earlier.  The strangest thing about it is that the AIG exec was even charged with a crime.

  • Tinkerers.  David Brin's graphic novel that analyzes US economic decline.  
  • Nassim Taleb (aka the Black Swan guy), has an interesting graphic on fragile vs. anti-fragile structures and processes.  I think it needs a little refinement in order to have more impact, but the placement of city states vs. nation-states is right on.
