Very well written review. I am particularly flattered by the reference to Marx (in terms of what it says about my writing).

Excellent -- and a really terrific blurb quote into the bargain.

I found Barnett's focus on his "optimistic builder/white hat and John's more the pessimistic breaker/black hat" to be inaccurate. Just began reading Brave New War and while you characterize yourself as a red team player, I have not found the overly negative point of view to which Barnett wants to refer. It seems that Mr. Barnett is looking to justify a much wider gap between the two sets of ideas, where in truth there is probably much more agreement to be found within his world of structural hierarchy and your interest in the bottom up/open source world. He seems to want to characterize them as mutually exclusive.
