Rod Beckstrom has been appointed as the cybersecurity advisor to the White House. He wrote the Starfish and the Spider. All I can say is wow.

I think he was doing risk management of derivatives back in 2001.
There were only a (or at most a couple of) dozen of us working full time on social software (and exploring how it could be used to power decentralized organizations) back then. It was early days...
