JOURNAL: Interdicting DIY Weapons

Israel is in an interesting position re: Gaza. It needs to answer the question: How do you prevent the construction of DIY (do-it-yourself) weaponry made possible through the re-use of consumer electronics?

The Israeli solution: block the importation of electronic goods, from microwaves to computers.

As technology continues and individual superempowerment becomes easier, will we see similar efforts in uncontrolled zones of Mexico, Pakistan and other hollow states? Will it be effective?
