Some random items of interest:
- TIP JAR. I've added a tip jar to the site (upper left). The more funding I get the more I can do. One of the things I'd like to do is get a new fax machine so Bill Lind can send me his articles (he doesn't use a computer).
- Permaculture MMO (see the Food Game). I've gotten a great response to my post on the need and opportunity for a permaculture MMO -- mostly from people with lots of experience in permaculture and software development. Some are even working on a game/software of this type already. All want to help and collaborate on a project to do this. Will reply soon. Not sure what to do given current financial limitations. If those restrictions reverse, we could get things moving in short order (an early Darknet module?, could be).
- Sesawe.net Tools for getting around censorship online. Nice.
- "Hollowing out the Middle: The Rural Brain Drain and what it means for America" Book review in the WSJ. Sounds interesting. My response? With virtual work replacing traditional in person "office work" and the rapid growth of micro-manufacturing, there will soon be no reason to leave a small town. Or for those ahead of the curve: Think of Darknet connected resilient communities as a means of rapid reversal.
