Here's a quick update. I'm spending the vast majority of my mental bandwidth and time working on my new book about networked resilient communities. It should be out soon. I hope to bypass the traditional publishing route for this book and self-publish (the systems are really good now) to get it out faster with more control, although I still am obligated to run it by my previous publisher (Wiley).
All this hard work hasn't stopped me from thinking about plots for follow on books of near term future fiction. Both of the ideas I'm toying with deal with warfare. One book is a story about open source warfare in the US tentatively entitled, "The DIY War." Another is the idea of a solo protagonist that launches a systems disruption campaign against the US, finding and destroying systempunkts across a variety of critical infrastructures, in an attempt to become the anti-Bill Gates (and then some). The tentative title for that book is, "The Trillion Dollar Man." Both sound like fun projects.
