Drone Hype vs. Drone Reality

Drone + Fireworks + Hydrogen Balloon. Looks like fun.  But it's pure hype.


You can expect to see lots of DIY efforts to combine drones with other weapons.  Many of those efforst will be showing up on YouTube soon.

Here's something more interesing that's in line with the tech curve on drones:

A helicopter drone was recently used in an attempt to smuggle heroin into a Russian prison.  Four Roma suspects, 700 g of heroin, and the drone were siezed by police.

It was planned that the container with the drug will be suspended from the helicopter on a rope and equipped with a flashlight to make it easier to track. The device was supposed to hang over the territory of prison so that the container was next to the window chamber, which was the organizer of the delivery.
