What is an info bomb?
When a government or corporation collects so much information on a citizenry that the unintentional release, theft, or misuse of it is a catastrophic event.
We have reached that point. An info bomb exists.
The question that arises from this:
Why risk catastrophic damage if the benefit is negligible or difficult to determine?
So why build an info bomb to stop a shoe bomber? That's just nuts.
It's just a matter of time before this bomb goes off. Data is being lost or leaked daily.
Sincerely,
JOHN ROBB
PS: Hmmm. "The Info Bomb" might be a great NYTimes Op Ed like the one I did on The Open Source War in 2005.
