Watched Kung Fu Hustle yesterday. Amazing movie (for those that love high octane action). It's funny and the action sequences put the Matrix to shame.
Also, watched Mind Hunters while I was sick with the flu last week. As good as Silence of the Lambs (of course, if you like that sort of thing). It threw me for a loop (very hard to do) several times.
Appleseed was great too. Fantastic cutting edge animation.
Flight of the Phoenix was a fun film for a former pilot like me. Nice tension throughout the film and a great example of innovation under pressure.
Lilya 4-Ever was the most depressing movie I have seen in a while. Very grim but well worth seeing.
Just back from seeing "Serenity," which was great fun. Have you seen it?

That is a movie I really want to see. Almost went this weekend.

Appleseed was okay. Have you read the manga? Much more cerebral and action oriented with some crazy plot lines you may appreciate.

Have you seen the "Kung Fu Hustle" guy's previous movie, "Shaolin Soccer"? It's even better & funnier than "Hustle" -- check it out if you haven't seen it...

I've seen it, it was great. I liked them both.

Appleseed's animation was great but the storytelling was abominable. For similar style and vastly superior storytelling I recommend Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence.
