Although I am not willing to step into the political quagmire, this sounds true to me too: (via NQ) For the average citizen reading Suskind they will not realize they are being given Top Secret, compartmented, Special Access Program (SAP) information...
Larry is wrong here. A WSJ front page piece on Western Union in October 2004 revealed that Western Union was tightly cooperating with the US government.

Most people would assume, as I did, that Western Union was cooperating with the USG on counter-terrorism. The big difference is that Western Union actually made it possible for them to track people in real-time.

Moon of Alabama, who never has done a single financial investigation, is woefully ignorant on this part. The details exposed by Suskind are Top Secret and compartmented. As someone who has spent the last 8 years doing financial investigations for the US Government and who is acknowledged, even by the Bush Administration as a money laundering expert, I know whereof I speak.

Moon of Alabama, who never has done a single financial investigation,
how do you know?

Well a lot is. Some of that is also public knowledge.
As someone who has spent the last 8 years doing financial investigations for the US Government and who is acknowledged, even by the Bush Administration as a money laundering expert, I know whereof I speak.
Okay, stick to those who pay your bills.

Is it so hard to imagine that with the technology available today that the MOU would read like something from the Black Chamber days? OK, maybe not for many of us, but for Joe Public . . .
