We used to think of the PMCs as former US service personnel who got out and walked across the street to sign up with Blackwater, Triple Canopy and that ilk. From what I read lately though, many of these personnel are now from countries other than the US and UK - what used to be called "Third World" - and many of them are in fact Iraqis.

If that is the case, then the training, discipline and loyalty of the PMCs becomes even less reliable than it was four years ago.


The Joint Chiefs denied a high priority request from the Marines for renewable powered bases which would have reduced the need for those 3,000 trucks per day somewhat.
